Op sy reis na Jerusalem toe het Jesus al met die grens tussen Samaria en Galilea langs gegaan. Net toe Hy 'n sekere dorpie wou binnegaan, kom tien melaatse mans Hom tegemoet, maar hulle bly op 'n afstand staan en roep hard: “Jesus, Here, ontferm U oor ons!”  Toe Hy hulle sien, sê Hy: “Gaan wys julle vir die priesters.” Op pad daarheen het hulle gesond geword. En een van hulle het, toe hy sien dat hy genees is, omgedraai en God hardop geprys. Hy het voor die voete van Jesus neergeval en Hom gedank. Hierdie man was 'n Samaritaan. Toe sê Jesus: “Was daar nie tien wat gesond gemaak is nie? Waar is die ander nege dan? Is daar niemand anders wat omgedraai het om God die eer te gee behalwe hierdie man wat nie eers 'n Jood is nie?”  En vir hom sê Hy: “Staan op en gaan huis toe. Jou geloof het jou gered.” LUKAS 17:11-19 AFR83
